They say dogs are a man’s best friend, well here at Bella’s Buddies we believe all our pets can be our best friends. Our dogs, cats and hamsters are all there for us to cuddle and talk to when we need them, so what happens when you are that little bit more busy than usual? That’s where Bella’s Buddies can help out.

Bella’s Buddies can offer companionship and care when other commitments mean you are unable to give the attention and exercise your pet needs.

Be it the holiday of a lifetime, a one off event like a wedding or evening out or daily work commitments that mean you aren’t spending as much time as you would like with your pet, Bella’s Buddies can tailor a package to suit you and your pet. We like to get to know the pets in our care and build a relationship with them to ensure they are content while they are with us.

From daily dog walks to the odd hamster sleepover, Bella’s Buddies will try their best to accommodate your pet’s needs, in either your home or ours.

While in the care of Bella’s Buddies your pet will be treated as one of the family, some of our house guests have been lucky enough to experience days out in the Lake District with us! Your pet will be socialised with other animals and humans and will experience a variety of environments. An active pet is a happy pet!

As a family of animal lovers we will welcome your furry friends into our daily lives. Having owned a full menagerie, dogs, cats, rabbits, fish, budgies, hens, stick insects… throughout our lives, we pride ourselves in pet care and experience.

For your peace of mind, Bella’s Buddies have medical training from Myerscough College, full insurance and enhanced CRB clearance.

About Bella’s Buddies

Hi, I’m Leanne, owner and manager of Bella’s Buddies. After a long career in teaching, I decided to convert to caring for animals rather than children! I have always owned pets, the longest time I remember living without a dog is 6 weeks. I’ve owned dogs, cats, rabbits and hamsters, budgies, stick insects, fish and even chickens! Over the years we have looked after a number of friends pets and have always found it great fun and very rewarding. Every experience is different, as is every animal, and I look forward to helping people care for their best friends.

Like many pet owners we have found ourselves asking family and friends to look after our dog while we are away or out for the day, we feel there is a need for us to offer care for people’s pets to give them peace of mind while they are away from their furry friends. We offer a friendly and reliable service which we tailor to suit our clients and their pet’s needs.

The convenience of having us look after your pets is worth every penny, no more phone calls begging someone to look after your pet(s). 

Bella’s Buddies is a family run business, based in Carleton, Poulton-le-Fylde. We strive to build relationships with the animals in our care so they are content and happy while being looked after by us.

As well as dog walking and dog sleepovers, we off small pet sitting and cat sitting services and small pet sleepovers.

We offer bespoke care packages where the pets and owners needs are a priority. Whether a 3 hour outing is required or just a feed, water and cuddle, we are here to help.

Bella’s Buddies will offer walks and care in a variety of safe environments, to excite and stimulate the pets senses. Walks in the same area every day must become very boring!

Behaviour Boosters

After completing, and passing with distinction, a gruelling assessment process I am now delighted to be a full member of the INSITIUTE OF MODERN DOG TRAINERS. (IMDT)

The IMDT follows a strict code of ethics. Positive reinforcement training methods are taught and adhered to.

Dog training is, at present, an unregulated body where anyone can profess to be a dog trainer or even a behaviourist. To me this is incredibly scary and can cause so much damage to our dogs. In my opinion, there is no need to use force or to inflict pain on our dogs during training.

In my training sessions, we encourage our dogs to make the best choices, in order to achieve the reward (usually some tasty food!).

Dog Walking Services

All our pet services are tailored to you and your pet’s specific needs. We pride ourselves in offering a professional yet personal service. If you have any queries, please get in touch and we will do our best to accommodate you, by creating a bespoke package for your pet.

Our walks take place in a variety of environments physically and socially. On their walks your dog should have the opportunity to  mix with other dogs and humans.

All dogs will initially be walked on leads. After discussion, and once a lead disclaimer form has been signed, we will offer the option of off the lead walks. Timescales will vary from dog to dog before we agree to off the lead walking.

For added security, your dog will be issued with a Bella’s Buddies identity tag to wear alongside their own.

Dogs will be grouped based on their size, temperament and needs, stamina and age will also be taken into consideration. Dogs will be walked in a maximum group size of four. The ratio of humans to dogs will always be at least 1:4.

After their walk, your dog will be returned home, toweled down if necessary and left with a fresh bowl of water. Bella’s Buddies will then secure your property and leave you tired dog to rest and await your return.

Please note that your dog will be out of their home for longer than the walk duration. Please discuss with us if you require your dog returned for a specific time as drop offs may sometimes take longer than expected, especially in wet weather!
