We welcome you to Baskervilles Boarding Kennels and Cattery, set in the village of Margaretting, Essex.
Our number one priority here at Baskervilles is to ensure your loved one gets the same quality of care you provide for them. We understand that leaving them is hard and a kennels and cattery will never have the same comforts of home but we will make sure you pet is as happy as possible while they are staying with us.

The Kennels

All our kennels have an inside tiled area (heated during winter months) and an outside concreted run. The staff follow a very strict cleaning routine where every kennel is washed out every day and thoroughly disinfected between animal stays.

Feeds are given out morning, lunchtime and late afternoon (whichever your animal requires) and we stock a full range of complete foods and tins. Any medication or food additives are accurately administered.

Dogs are exercised on their own or with their partner in one of our seven exercise areas. We never mix dogs from other households. Owners can leave bedding and toys for their dogs but it must be labelled. Baskervilles do supply bedding if you wish.

All dogs must be up to date with their annual boosters and all dogs must also be vaccinated against Kennel Cough. This can be administered by your vet before coming into kennels.

The Cattery

The cattery comprises of 24 chalets and works off a corridor system for maximum security. Each suite has a fully enclosed bedroom, fitted with heating for the colder months and cosy beds and bedding. Each bedroom has access to an individual run via a cat flap and ramp, which is covered by a translucent covering for all weather conditions. This area gives plenty of space for your cats to have a play and stretch. Each chalet also comes provided with a scratch post.
You are welcome to bring your own bedding and toys, although we are happy to provide them for you.

We stock Whiskers and Felix tinned food and also Omega and Iams dry food, but customers are welcome to bring their own food in if they wish. We would encourage this if your cat has any prescription food.
All members of our team are fully trained on how to give medication following your instructions given.

All cats must be inoculated against Feline Infectious Enteritis and Cat Flu before them come to stay. We ask that a valid certificate must be shown upon arrival.

We also provide a professional grooming service for cats – please speak to a member of staff who will be happy to inform you of the service.

Grooming Parlour

We have a fully established Grooming Parlour here at Baskervilles which is open to boarders and non-boarders alike. Our two groomers have a combined experience of over 55 years between them. They can offer clipping, hand stripping, scissoring, bathing and nail clipping to all breeds, both dogs and cats.
We stock a wide range of shampoos suitable for all coat types to ensure your dog or cat comes home smelling and looking wonderful!

Prices will be provided on request. We also provide a local collection and delivery service for a small charge.
