We are Emma & Andy and we own the Southampton branch of Animals at Home. We share our home in Hamble Le Rice with 3 dogs; Ruby the German Shepherd, Molly the Labrador and our 13 year old Shih Tzu Max as well as our tabby cat Lola who is definitely in charge of the pack! We are a family of animal lovers so it is a huge privilege to be able to run the Southampton branch and share some of that passion with our customers (furry and human!)
Our pets are part of our family, so we know first hand how important it is to find a good quality, reliable pet care service that you can trust to look after your furry family.
Our team of pet carers are on hand to ensure that your pets are looked after as if they were our own. We offer a 24/7 service and our team are fully insured, pet first aid qualified and DBS checked so you know you and your furry friends are in safe hands.
We provide a personalised service – no two pets are the same so the service we provide shouldn’t be. Our team pride themselves on getting to know you, your pet, their routine and their likes and dislikes.
Our services include:
Dog walking: we can be there when you can’t whether it’s a daily walk or just occasional, we can help. We have lots of experience with large strong walkers (pullers!) and can offer individual walks or small pack walks.
Cat Care visits: feeding and entertaining your cats when you can’t be there
House sitting: We can arrange for one of our house sitters to come and stay in your home so your pets can stay in their familiar environment. Nicky & Chris provide our house sitting service and have looked after homes and pets all over the world, so you are in safe hands.
Puppy care/play visits: Our youngest dog Ruby is only 7 months old so we understand how important it is for puppies to have a good routine and lots of interaction when you need to go back to work.
Pet Transport: We offer short and long distance pet transport in our DEFRA certified pet ambulance.
Vet visits: we understand how important it is for you to get your pet to the vet for routine and emergency appointments so we will take the stress away for you. You can accompany your pet in our ambulance or we can handle the whole appointment for you. Our vet transport service is 24/7 so we are there to support you in case of an emergency.
Dog Boarding: When it’s time for you to go on holiday, your dogs can have a holiday with one of our host families! We will take the time to meet you and your dog and match you with one of our experienced families.
Pet Cremation: When it is time to say goodbye, we will be there to support you. We offer an individual, personalised cremation service for our customers during this difficult time.

Safe pet transport is a must for your pet, whether it’s a trip to the vets, the groomers, because you’re moving home or in an emergency.
We’re on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Working closely with local vets, we can help you get your pets to the surgery for routine appointments. We can attend appointments on your behalf if you are unable to for any reason. Our Pet Taxi / Animal Ambulance has been designed with safety, welfare and comfort in mind; to ensure a safe and comfortable journey for your pets. The vehicle holds DEFRA Welfare in Transport approval for both long and short journeys.
The design features bespoke animal accommodation, with escape hatches and veterinary grade construction. It carries pet first aid equipment, pet carriers, hygiene and cleaning solutions and spare vet bed material.
All of our ambulance teams are pet first aid and pet handling trained, their skills include handling and administering medications.

Dog Boarding in Southampton
We offer dog home boarding services where your pet can stay with a loving, approved family.
Animals at Home offer the true alternative to dog boarding kennels, instead providing a home-from-home holiday experience for your dog.
A service preferred by most dogs and owners, but especially those dogs that are scared of kennels or suffer from kennel stress symptoms, or perhaps have no experience of staying anywhere other than a loving family environment. We offer local dog boarding host families who will care for your dog in their home while you are away on holiday or business.
All of our host families will have Local Authority Dog Home Boarding Licenses as required by Law, with suitable houses, gardens, training, protocol and risk assessments; and importantly, are dog lovers themselves.
We take great care to select just the right people to look after your dog.
Before commencing the Dog Boarding Services you will be invited to visit the host family before your pet’s stay, so you can see the home your best friend will be staying in and meet the people who will look after him or her.
We match suitable hosts with the right size, breed and character that your dog requires.
In most cases our families will only be looking after your dog, but it is possible that your dog may stay another pet family with similar needs (subject to licensing and owner consent). Either way they get all the care and attention they deserve, and you’ll get plenty of photo and video updates so you can see how much fun your dog is having on their holiday!

We only offer individual walks for your dog and do not engage in the practice of ‘pack walking’

Dog Day Care in Southampton

We all know how much the working day can drag, but imagine it from your dog’s perspective, home alone and lacking stimulation. Why not brighten your best buddy’s day with our daycare service. We can collect your dog from home in our pet taxi, or you can drop them off with us. Conveniently located in the middle of our licenced area many people use us as a drop off and pick up service!
