Professional Qualifications and Experience
Jane Mallett is principal of All About The Dog West Dorset (AATDWD). She is a qualified and insured companion dog training instructor who has been training dogs since 1999. Jane is a Kennel Club (KC) Accredited Instructor for Companion Dogs, a member of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers (APDT) (no. 01284) and The Canine Behaviour and Training Society. She is also a student member of the International Society of Animal Professionals. Both KC and APDT memberships involved rigorous theory and practical assessments. Jane also keeps up to date in companion dog training methods and is undertaking an Advanced Diploma in Applied Animal Behaviour (Canine). She has also taken part in workshops and conferences in obedience, clicker/marker training, predatory chase, breed traits in training, scent work, canine first aid, search and rescue, canine behaviour, etc. From 2014 to 2019 Jane was a volunteer dog instructor and has led KC Puppy Foundation Course, and KC Bronze, Silver and Gold classes. For several years Jane also helped to organise volunteers for the Dog Field for Buckham Fair which was attended by 20,000 people and raised money for charity.
Personal Training
In the past Jane and her husband had two working sheepdogs of 12 and 15 years who both attained their Kennel Club Good Citizens Gold Awards. They currently have a nervous rescue sheepdog cross of ten years (KCGC Gold Award) who enjoys scent work, and was finalist in Best Rescue at Buckham Fair in 2013. The other member of the family is a seven year old Welsh Sheepdog (also passed her KCGC Gold Award), who likes running at speed and is an avid watcher of television.

Home visits are tailored to you and your dog’s needs. They are available for training advice for puppies or dogs of any age. These can cover issues such as jumping up, loose lead walking, recall, good manners, impulse control, etc or any other training issues your dog may have.
