Active Paws provides a beautiful setting for your pet to enjoy woodland and field walks on our own private land. We also offer an exercise paddock with dog agility equipment and large dog proof fields for your dog to run free, play and chase balls. Our aim is to provide a top quality home-from-home experience so that you have peace of mind while you are away. We offer clean, warm and comfortable rooms where normal family life continues around your pet.

Our doggy daycare facilities are truly unique – the combination of 15 acres of woodland and fields allows us to walk dogs on site in safe, private grounds while also offering a huge variety of activities to keep dogs stimulated and engaged. Our ethos is all about selecting small social groups of like-minded dogs with similar play ethic. We spend much time introducing new dogs on a 1:1 basis until they are ready to be integrated into a group. For this reason, we do not accept all breeds of dog – please check with us first whether we are able to accommodate your dog!
Enriching your dog’s life at doggy daycare
Your dog deserves a varied, active and social life for his mental and physical wellbeing. On-lead sensory walks are provided where dogs can follow scent trails and see squirrels, rabbits, deer, horses and chickens amongst the flora and forna. All dogs are exercised twice a day with toilet breaks in between exercise periods. Free exercise in fields that have tyre climbs and log jumps is structured and is not a free-for-all with all different breeds and sizes running together. We promote safe, social fun so all dogs are happy and confident in their groupings. With games, ball play and dog agility (if applicable) there is something for everyone from dachshund to labradoodle.

All dogs stay in our house, living with us as a family. The home boarding rooms are warm and comfortable with central heating in the colder months and excellent ventilation. High quality, comfy bedding is provided, which is kept clean according to our stringent hygiene program. We have also installed CCTV so that we can keep an eye on what’s happening at all times!
We love dogs. So we give our visitors the same fuss and attention that we give our own pets. Routine family life goes on as normal, the TV is on, the washing machine is going and after a day of fun and exercise our guests typically like to curl up on a comfortable bed by the radiator with a newly made chum!
All our family members are animal lovers and are involved in the running of the business, be it walking or playing with the visitors, doing the accounts, taking the photos and doing the handovers at the end of the day.
