Acorn Lodge is a well-established family business run by Norman, Joy, Nigel Bedford and twin sister Hayley Randall. We provide safe, comfortable and friendly boarding for all manner of pets whilst you are away on a holiday. Nigel, who runs the kennels, cattery and small breed boarding, is highly experienced with many years looking after a range of pets and previously managing boarding kennels across the region. We take enormous pride in offering the highest standard of care and accommodation for your pets.

We provide peace of mind to all our customers while their pets are with us. We and all our staff are animal lovers, so you can go away and enjoy your holiday knowing that your pet is enjoying theirs at Acorn Lodge. All animals are treated with love and affection and we are open 52 weeks of the year, meaning that whenever you choose to take your vacation, we are here for you. All the dogs get walked twice daily in our secured paddocks.

Muddy Paws Grooming Parlour

Run by Nigel’s twin sister Hayley, Muddy Paws is equally popular with local pet owners and offers high-quality grooming for all breeds of dog. The business now employs three experienced lady groomers in addition to Hayley to accommodate the ever-growing demand of regular and new customers that bring their dogs to us for pampering. You can come to us 52 weeks of the year, and all breeds are catered for from the very smallest to the largest.

Our comprehensive service can include bathing, conditioning, nail clipping, ear cleaning, coat clipping and scissoring, meaning your dog will leave looking and feeling great. The grooming parlour is fully air conditioned for your pet’s comfort and it also has heating for the colder months. The dogs are taken for a walk whilst in for grooming and are given fresh drinking water. Special shampoo is available – coconut, tea tree, baby and flea, and we also offer a pickup and delivery service for an extra charge.

Each has a raised bed and spacious sleeping area, which is fitted with our own comfortable bedding and carpets. If your furry friend prefers their own bedding and toys, you are welcome to bring them, and food and bedding are included in the boarding fee.

We take all breeds, big or small, nervous or even the ones with special needs, as we are qualified to administer all medications if required. Our kennel blocks are fully heated and alarmed with CCTV on-site, guaranteeing your pet’s safety.
