ABOUT US

Where did it start, where are we now

I established A Furry World in 2003. After many years of dreaming of working with animals, I finally took the plunge quit my city job and started grooming, walking, visiting, training and boarding animals and I haven’t looked back since #bestjobever.

My vision was to offer clients the kind of personal, attention-to-detail service & care I would want for my own pets. I quickly realised that the kind of care and attention I offered was proving very popular and soon found myself needing to find some fellow pet lovers to keep up with demand.

I now run a small team of dedicated pet lovers, I made a decision to keep the team small so our focus can continue to be on providing a personalised, loving, accountable, and outstanding service. A Furry World is Not a search engine or an impersonal agency but a tight nit team of genuine pet lovers headed up by myself.

When taking on an assignment a meeting with the client and pet is arranged with their dedicated carer. In the meeting, they will go through a comprehensive form to insure we have all the relevant information needed to provide the very best care and service possible.

A Furry World and our sister companies Citikiti and London Dog Walking offer a wide range of services for as long or short as you need – every day of the year including bank holidays, weekends, school holidays and Christmas & New Year.

We will do our best to help answer any pet-related questions and work closely with other pet professionals including Vets, trainers, and groomers enabling us to offer and direct to a wide range of pet-related services.

BOARDING

THEIR HOME FROM HOME

With A Furry World your pet will be enjoying their holiday in a home environment. These are not boarding kennels but family homes.

We are happy to welcome most critters including Rabbits, Guinea Pigs, Hamsters, Gerbils and African Snails.

PAMPER & PLAY

As your small pet will be boarded in family environments emphasis is put on pamper, play and TLC.

Your pet should feel that it is their holiday too!

All pets will be offered daily out of cage time (unless otherwise specified) and, weather allowing we have safe outdoor areas for them to enjoy a run in too.

HANDLING & BRUSHING

Most of our family friends are used to daily contact and we of course want to make sure they continue receiving this during their holiday.

Depending on coat we are also happy to brush

FEEDING

To avoid any more change than necessary for your furry friends we ask that you bring their own dry food and hay. We will provide fresh daily vegs (for the pets where this is appropriate)

MEDICATION

Should your pet require medication we would be able to help with this on most occasions but you would need to inform us at time of booking and additional cost may apply.

CLEANING

Cages and runs are of course kept clean and litter changed regularly.

VISITING

We offer to look after your pet in your own home for as long or short time as you need.

When first booking an assignment We will arrange a meeting with your dedicated Furry Carer to talk about likes and dislikes and about normal daily routine this to help make our time with your furry companion as fun and relaxing as possible.

Before the meeting we have a very comprehensive form that we ask you to fill out this allows us to have all necessary information to offer the best possible care.

WALKING

LETS GO WALKIES

Our dogs are fully dependent on us; they need companionship and thrive from regular exercise.

When using our Dog Walking service, your dog gets the exercise he needs and you don’t need to feel guilty.

Nowadays most of us unfortunately have to work full time leaving us with less free time and taking us away from home for many hours at a day. Even when working from home it may be difficult taking the time out to go for a walk.

We often end up feeling guilty that we do not spend enough time with our nearest and dearest, amongst which our furry friends probably rank higher than most of us care to admit 😉

We can help, not only to stop you feeling guilty but also to improve your dogs health & prevent or relieve behaviour problems caused by boredom and excess energy

OUR DOG WALKING SERVICE INCLUDE:

• Same designated walker every day

• One-to-one or small group walks (max 3 in a group)

• A service agreement outlining all details is created

• We use your training commands

• Short notice walks (availability providing)

• Early morning & late evening walking available

• All carers Insured and police checked

• You will receive daily updates on your dog from your carer

BEHAVIOURIST

HAPPY CAT HAPPY HOUSE

At A Furry World we are very fortunate to have our very own in-house Cat Behaviourist so please do get in contact for a consultation.

Sometimes our feline friends are feeling a little unhappy about their lives. They try and communicate this as best as they can, but often we see that as problem behaviour.

Your cat may urinate in inappropriate places. Perhaps you have more than 1 cat and they don’t all get along.

Or maybe your cat is destroying your sofas (we know they aren’t scratching posts, but does your cat know that?)

Obviously you will have taken your cat to the vet and they have examined him/her. Your vet tells you your cat is healthy, which is excellent news but does not solve your issues. Your vet can then refer you to a cat behaviourist: that’s when Happy cats can help.
