Our company, A Dog’s Best Friend, is based in the South Lanarkshire village of Braidwood and offers a wide range of dog care services – including dog walks and drop-in visits – to domestic customers living within a 5-mile radius of Braidwood.
The business is run by myself Ryan Wallace. I have owned dogs all of my life and understand that they hold a very special place in our hearts. I know that your dog is one of the most important members of your family and deserves to be cared for as such.
Since establishing our company in 2021, we have filled out our range of services to include all of the following. Further details about all of these services can be found on our Services page.
Group Dog Walking
Monthly Mega Walk on the first Saturday of Every Month
Drop-In Visits
Puppy/Older Dog Drop-In Visits
Doggy Day Care
The dog’s safety is our top priority with all of these services. You can take further comfort that we are fully insured, have undertaken training in first aid and are disclosure-checked.
Our services have indeed, over time, started attracting more recommendations – nicely supplementing our advertising activities.
We can introduce your pooch to a range of fun environments – including local walks as well as walking trails further afield during our monthly mega walks, with Tinto Hill and Clyde Valley circular route among the locations we have visited with customers’ dogs.
As dogs are pack animals, they enjoy the social experience of being walked in a group. Your dog will have lots of fun and make lots of new friends when joining our pack.
All of our walks are thoroughly risk-assessed, and we use Tractive GPS trackers for dogs new to the pack. We also use collar lights on dogs when walking them on those darker nights.
We offer safe, ventilated and comfortable transport for your beloved pooch, and use biodegradable dog waste bags on our walks.
A dog sitter can visit your home as and when requested in order to spend time feeding and playing with your dog.
It’s up to you exactly how many times a day the sitter visits. Drop in visits typically last 20 minutes
We know that looking after either a puppy or an older dog can have special requirements and implications that don’t always apply to caring for dogs of other age brackets.
For this reason, we are happy to prepare special packages for either a puppy or older dog when arranging for a dog sitter to make a drop-in visit for them.
Dogs can become bored, depressed and destructive when left alone at home for hours.
We offer a doggy day care service where you are able to leave your dog with us all day so that your pooch can get plenty of attention and stimulation while you are away.
