Dog home boarding

Why home board?

Kennels can be very expensive and are not always the best solution for looking after your dog. We pride ourselves in giving your dog a home from home when you are away – a break which we are sure it will enjoy.

Your dog will live in our house as one of the family in a warm and loving environment, will go on walkies with our dog, have the security of a fenced-in garden and be a friend for our dog and the other doggies staying with us. One of us is around the house all of the time and your dog will not be left alone in the house.

We cater for long or short breaks and if an emergency occurs at your home we would do our best to accommodate your dog.

About Doggy Day Care

If your dog is unhappy with being left alone at home, then daycare is a great solution! Out at work all day? – you can simply drop your doggy off at our house and pick up a happy, fed, well exercised and loved dog when you come home. This is called doggy day care, for the simple reason that it is like a childminding service, except for dogs!

The benefits of Doggy DayCare include:

  • Relief from boredom and loneliness
  • Exercise, play and socialising with other dogs
  • Prevention of destructive behavior and anxiety
  • All-day supervision

About Us

Meet the team

The Lead Role is mainly the father and son team of Philip and John Hague. They live on Aldenham Road and can often be seen out and about walking their own dog Roxy or other dogs of different shapes and sizes. Sometimes other members of the family, Jan or Michael, have been known to help out.

John Hague

John is the main walker of The Lead Role. He has a natural affinity with dogs and is the main carer of the Hague’s own dog Roxy. He studies design part-time at West Herts college.

Philip Hague

Philip provides full back-up for John, walking dogs when John has college commitments and being there as back-up in case of emergency. Philip grew up with dogs and has been around them all his life. Philip works from home organising conferences.
