Welcome to Little Barks. We offer a relaxed, home environment for your little dog while you’re away. We’re licensed by Northumberland County Council and meet the higher standards – license number NAB/271. We’re comprehensively insured, DBS checked and trained in canine first aid.
Every dog that stays with us is welcome to treat our home as their own and will have the freedom to roam – there are no kennels, crates or pens here. They’ll have full access to the home and garden and spend time in the company of our own friendly little dog – and a maximum of three other small dog guests. A small group of little dogs ensures a safe, relaxed and settled environment for all.
They will enjoy varied daily walks, in some of the excellent local country parks, woodland, fields and beaches.
They’ll have access to a large, secure garden for exercise and play. In warmer months, they’ll have access to a splash pool and sand pit.
They’ll have full access to our home and be able to sleep where they choose.
They’ll enjoy plenty of one on one time with us, through play and individual attention, as well as play time with other small, friendly dogs.
We are happy to continue your dogs feeding and medication schedule while you’re away.
Drop offs and collections are made convenient as we’re only a 20 minutes drive from Newcastle Airport.
You will have peace of mind while you are away with regular photo and video updates.
It can be daunting when the time comes to find the right home boarder for your dog. There are so many variables at play and every dog is unique.
Our priority is that your little one is safe, settled and happy with us. We have a tried and tested process for every new dog to ensure we’re the right fit for each other:
Meet and greet – you and your pup come along to meet us and our own dog and to see your pups potential second home. This is the perfect opportunity to discuss their needs, routines and likes and dislikes etc.
Trial night – if you’re happy to proceed after the meet and greet, we can arrange a trial night. A trial night gives us the opportunity to get to know your dogs personality, to see how well they get on with our own dog, to make sure they are house-trained, non aggressive, anti-social, destructive or suffer from separation anxiety.
If the meet and greet and trial night go well, we know your dog will be happy and settled here with us – their new home from home. We always look forward to having our little dog pals back time and time again!
