A little about us

Hello! We are Jules and Steve, West Bridgford residents for over 20 years. Together with our daughter, we raised and cared for Dexter, a loveable working cocker spaniel for 14 years. Always active, he struggled towards the end of his life with complex medical needs. As a family we worked hard to make sure he could still live his best life.

After 14 years we lost Dexter. We had a huge hole in our hearts to fill and knew we wanted to do something that involved dogs.

As we would often find it difficult to secure home boarding that met our requirements, we decided to draw upon our experience, expertise and love of dogs to create houndhaus.

We now offer West Bridgford a family home dog boarding service that we always wanted. It’s a service that we think you’ll love and it allows us to continue to welcome and love dogs in our home!

Dogs are more than just pets, they’re family members. We know how difficult it can be to decide what to do with our four-legged friends when we need a holiday or spend a few nights away.

Dog boarding kennels can be a great option for some, but our doggy just didnt get on with them. So we made use of friends and family to help out from time to time but that option wasnt always available.
