A very warm welcome to our website! I’m Bethany, owner and manager of It’s not a dog kennel Pet Services. My business was founded out of my love, respect, and admiration for all animals, great and small.

For as long as I can remember, I have always had animals around me – from fish to gerbils, hamsters, cats, dogs and even my own ponies! I adore animals and it is my aim to ensure that they receive the same unconditional love and attention that they give to us.

Before my wedding, I realised that our chocolate labrador, Indie, would need to go to a kennel for a couple of days whilst we celebrated with family and friends. The whole idea filled me with terror as I imagined her beautiful, big brown eyes staring back at me wondering why I was abandoning her!

I realised that this must be a common occurrence when owners are going away on holiday or when they are away on business. As I talked to more and more people, I realised that their dog’s experience in kennels was a largely negative experience. It suddenly occurred to me that having a pet sitter who could give Indie all the attention she needs in her own environment would be such a welcome alternative! Finding that there is a lack of pet sitters in my area gave me the encouragement to set up my own pet sitting business, where I could offer this kind of service to other devoted pet owners.

The hardest part of expanding my business was finding the perfect people for the job; not only did they need lots of experience caring for a variety of pets but they needed to be able to demonstrate that they are highly reliable, flexible and most importantly, trustworthy and passionate about looking after animals exactly like their owners do.

I can’t think of a more important job than looking after people’s pets; afterall they are our children too! I have been extremely lucky to find a dedicated team who are fantastic! They give undivided attention and love to the pets they care for, and have amazing references and feedback from our clients.
