About Me

Hello, my name is Jacqui, I am a mature, responsible mother of two, living locally in Lichfield.  I have a real love for animals and set up Shaws Paws, my own dog walking and pet sitting business in 2010 and haven’t looked back since! I have the best job in the world!

I offer a friendly, flexible and reliable pet service and promise to care for your pets as though they were my own. I cover the whole Lichfield area, I have Professional Dog Walker/Pet Minder Insurance and please be reassured I’ve also been DBS (previously CRB) checked.

Dog Walking

With work commitments, an illness or just needing to go out for the day, there are times everyone could do with a dog walker.

I can go on walks from your home, or take them by car to the park or on a country walk.

My walks are usually 1 hour long and cost £12. I like to walk 2 or 3 dogs at a time and match them on their liveliness and character to ensure everyone has a nice and sociable time. Many dog walkers walk 6 dogs at a time (the legal limit) but I personally don’t feel you have full control or are able to give the dogs the attention they need when walking that many.

For elderly dogs and puppies, I can provide a friendly home visit where I can play, cuddle, feed and take your dog outside for a toilet break.

Cat Sitting

Cat sitting allows your pet to stay in familiar surroundings, which means they do not undergo the stress that catteries can induce. Although domestic cats appear to be very independent, they are territorial animals. They become very attached to their homes and are naturally frightened of unfamiliar places and smells. The kindest and best arrangement you can make for your cat whilst you are away is to to leave them at home, in their familiar environment, following their normal routines.

Every cat is different, and I like to meet you in person (and hopefully your cat!) to not only discuss the practicalities of what needs to be done regarding feeding etc, but also to understand the nature of your cat. Do they like to play? Do they have a favourite toy? Do they like a lot of fuss and stroking? Or are they likely to want to be left alone? I aim to make the time that you are away as normal and as stress free for your pet as possible.

I am very discreet. I have an unmarked car and don’t wear uniform – so I don’t advertise the fact you are away when I call round.

Whilst visiting your pets, I can also offer a home security package for free (picking up post, closing curtains etc.) so you have the added peace of mind that your property is being looked after too.

Pet Sitting

I look after all sorts of small animals in their own home. I have looked after rats, degus and terrapins as well as the more ubiquitous rabbits, guinea pigs and hamsters! I am always up for a challenge if you have a more unusual pet!

Pet sitting includes feeding, playing, cage or litter tray cleaning and lots of stroking (if your pet likes it that is!)
