Based in Saxon Street near Newmarket, I am dedicated to providing highly professional safe, Dog and Puppy training along with fun dog walking and a pet home visit service to Newmarket and all the surrounding villages. I have sought the best advice and undergone extensive training to ensure that I provide you with an expert service that promises the continued well-being of your dog’s cats and all of your small animals.
Here @ Nikkis Canine Capers my method of training is always Reward Based or Positive Reinforcement training.
Positive Reinforcement Training means you will be clearly communicating with your dog. By rewarding the dog for all behaviour you like with treats and praise and ignoring the dog for performing behaviour you do not like . With this method of training over time your dog will soon learn that good things happen when they repeat good behaviour and they will be ignored for behaviour you do not like .
This type of training does need consistency and patience however it is proven to promote a positive strong bond between the owner and their dog. It is the most up to date method of training replacing the dominance/punishment based training method once used which is now known to have caused fear confusion and many other behaviour problems .
It is to be considered that puppies are very much like sponges for learning and the early introduction to training can eliminate many problems from developing at a later stage.

I will always treat your dog with the greatest care and kindness, and will always do everything in my power to keep them out of harm’s way. My services are fully insured and can be designed to suit your schedule and the unique needs of your dogs. I also offer a home check service to ensure your dogs are safe and happy while you are away.

Prior to any services, I will conduct a short one-to-one initial consultation with you in your own home to meet you and your dogs, to discuss what you and your dogs need from my service, and how I can meet these needs. This allows me to ensure your satisfaction with your specific package and the arrangements surrounding it, and to ensure that you understand and accept the terms and conditions of my services.

PUPPY VISITS

If you have recently welcomed a new puppy into your home, this package is perfect for you. Included in the price are regular visits throughout the day where I will let your puppy out to relieve themselves, give them lots of play and cuddles, and even basic puppy training if necessary. If your puppy is vaccinated, I will also take them on a short walk suited to their age to help them socialise and get some fresh air.
