ABOUT ME

Hi, I’m Sara. My love of dogs began from an early age when I used to walk racing greyhounds with my Dad who was part owner of 2 dogs.

Later in life I voluntarily walked dogs with ‘Help The Aged’; I absolutely loved it and decided that it was my dream job. I decided to pursue it and created I Need A Walk in 2011.

I am dog Mam to Toby who we found at Brysons animal shelter at 8 months old. He’s now 9 and has accompanied me on many walks over the years. He is cute as a button and can also be grumpy at times.

I Need a Walk is a pet care service operating in and around Low Fell, Gateshead Tyne and Wear. As a business I provide pet sitting, pet visits, dog walking and pet hygiene visits for your furry friends. I am fully insured and have a CRB check (Criminal Records Bureau).

I need a walk isn’t a massive money-making corporate franchise – it’s a small and personal, people and pet friendly business run since 2011 by me, Sara.

I currently own a cute but mischievous Jack Russel Terrier who came from Brysons Animal Shelter he accompanies me on some walks and gets on well with other dogs.

DOG WALKING SERVICES:

• Meeting your Dog – Your dogs welfare is extremely important to me. When you contact me, I will arrange an initial meeting with you and your dog so that we can get to know each other and discuss your individual requirements before proceeding. At this stage I like to take your dog on a short walk to allow your dog to familiarise themselves with me.
• Dog Walking – I Need a Walk offers hour long walks. I walk in all weathers and prefer to walk your dog in your locality wherever possible and will clean muddy paws and dirty bellies upon return. All dogs will be walked on a lead until we have built up a trusting bond. Then, only if you agree and only safe areas, well away from traffic, the dog may then be walked off lead. I will bring your dog back home safe, happy and exercised.
• Feeding & Watering – If you would like your dog to be fed or have a fresh drink when he or she gets home, I can make sure this is taken care of.
• I also like to take pictures of your pets enjoying their walks with me and with your permission I upload these to my Facebook page , and Instagram for you to see.
  *For anyone not into the social networking scene I also provide a text service to update you how the walk/visit has gone.
• I supply own poop bags for walks.
• At Christmas time your pet will receive a festive gift.
