Two Rivers Veterinary Practice

We are a small friendly independent veterinary practice, with staff who like to take the time to get to know their clients. We aim to treat every animal as if it were one of our own, whether its a much-loved family pet, top-class competition horse or valuable pedigree bull.  We provide a full 24 hour emergency service for registered clients, so even in the middle of the night one of our own vets will answer the phone and be able to help you.

We have two surgeries, in Biggar and Peebles, with six veterinary surgeons working between both premises, alongside our helpful and caring fully qualified veterinary nurses and our fabulous client care team. We are committed to continual advancement of our professional standards, compassionate care of each individual patient, and sensible, reliable and affordable advice for our clients.

Our Surgeries

The practice was originally founded by Les Clerihew, who set up his own single-handed practice in Biggar and later opened a small branch surgery in Peebles. When Les retired in 2005, Trevor took over and LW Clerihew became Two Rivers Veterinary Practice. Over the last eighteen years we have increased from two vets to six vets, and from four employees to twenty-four. Both premises have been extended and considerably updated, with further projects currently in progress. We agree with Les that the area is a fantastic place to live and work, with so many lovely clients, and hope that our ongoing improvements would have met with his approval.

The Peebles surgery was orginally only open a couple of hours per day, with a reception/waiting room at the front and consulting room at the back.  In 2007 we knocked through into the next door premises and created an operating theatre and ward/kennels as well.

Peebles is now open every day of the week and is as busy as Biggar.  We consult and operate daily in both surgeries, and can have inpatients in both premises.  We have vets and vet nurses based in each surgery each day, with the out-of-hours vet covering both practices.
