About Us

Family run established since 2011.
I have always had a passion for dogs, owning them for over 30 years. I particularly have a passion for training nervous/anxious dogs, after working with my own rescue Spaniel who has taught me so much about ‘reactivity’. Both myself and my 2 Cocker Spaniels love scent work, in particular Mantrailing, along with general Obedience and Gundog activities.
Pets are collected and dropped off in fully rubber matted & caged van, ensuring comfort and safety. Fresh water is always available and there is a doggy first aid kit on board.
I am based in the Croespenmaen area of South Wales but also cover Abercarn, Newbridge, Blackwood, Abertillery and all surrounding areas within a 5 mile radius.

Services

Dog Walking

Dog walks are tailored to your dogs needs; during our walks we play games, interacting with each dog to ensure they have individual attention, care and affection. Dogs are walked in small groups so that we have this opportunity to interact and also ensure safety whilst out and about.

Puppy Training

Have you recently welcomed a new puppy to your home?

Are you struggling with different advice on the internet?

Here at Charlie’s Walks and Training you will be provided with an individually tailored session where we can cover those typical puppy behaviours!

This can include: The basics (Sit, Down, Stay), Recall, Loose lead walking, Chewing/ mouthing, Picking things up, jumping up, Day to day manners, Settling out and about, Being alone, Socialisation.

This sessions include a pre-assessment where you will be asked to fill in depth questionnaire; a one hour face to face training session,; and a follow up report which runs through what was covered in the session with a training plan.

Adult dog training package.

Our adult training package offers help with real life situations that happen on a day to day basis.

• Lead pulling
• Recall
• Reactivity
• Barking
• Jumping up

The above list is an example but not exhaustive of all behaviours.

This sessions include a pre-assessment where you will be asked to fill in depth questionnaire; a one hour face to face training session,; and a follow up report which runs through what was covered in the session with a training plan.

All training sessions are held outdoors or in the home for young puppies.

Learning outdoors in a real life environment ensures your dog learns the practical skills they need. While some dogs may learn faster in an artificial environment, such as a church hall they then struggle to remember those skills while out at a park, with real life distractions.

We offer the most up to date, force-free and science based approach.
