Care 4 Pets was launched in July 2000 to provide an alternative to boarding kennels or catteries for family pets that were used to being in family homes.
Jon and Alison had a pair of cats, three dogs and various small animals, so they recognised the difficulties as well as the satisfaction of living with pets. Returning from family holidays had highlighted the need for an alternative for the pets’ care, as a dog returning from kennels would often appear quiet and upset for some time afterwards, whilst the cats would be aloof and react as if they hadn’t been fed at all, ever, (OK, so it’s hard to tell with a cat.)
Although it’s nice to be able to call on the help of friends or neighbours no-one wants to impose or demand too much. So Care 4 Pets was launched. Initially Care 4 Pets’ services were limited to home boarding and house visits in Barry, Dinas Powis and Penarth, but soon they found that a lot of people were feeling the same way about their pet’s care and readily welcomed the option of having a paid pet carer to ease their concerns and now offer services across South Wales.
Pet Boarding for dogs is from £22.95 per day – Your dog will live as part of the family with one of our licensed home boarders. Just contact us with your pet’s information and we will do our best to match your pet with the most appropriate boarder. We will consider dogs with medical requirements or dogs needing extra care, the charges in this situation may be higher than our basic rate. Our over-night boarding is charged on a minimum 24-hour basis.
Because we have been in business for so long, we have regular clients booking well in advance, so we recommend you make your enquiries in good time. You will be required to go and visit the home boarder with your dog before a booking is confirmed to ensure both you and our boarder is happy with the arrangements.
We also board rabbits or any contained pet.
Sometimes it makes sense to leave your pets at home and have someone stay there. Our designated house pet sitter will stay in your house and look after your pets and home, for as many days and nights as you need while you are away.
As with all the staff at Care 4 Pets, your house sitter will be responsible and trustworthy and will respect your home.
Our house sitting rate starts at £50 per 24 hours. The rate for your house sit will depend on the number of animals to care for and the demands you place upon the sitter.
