Welcome to Solly & Skip’s

Our Business

We are Siân & Deb, a professional couple with a background in Social Care. We have both always had pets in our lives….

We are most definitely animal lovers & support a number of charities including the Cinnamon Trust; currently walking a senior poodle for a local octogenarian. Our latest addition is from Many Tears Rescue in Carmarthenshire; we are happy to support them through our business.

Solly & Skip’s provide an ‘in your own home’ pet-sitting service. We also offer a pop-in service in the Vale of Glamorgan.

Solly & Skip were our best boys & we lost them both in 2020. They didn’t do well in kennels & home boarding also didn’t work out, so we looked at having our own pet & house sitter. This proved to be one of the best decisions we have made & is the reason we have set up our own pet-focused house-sitting service.

As experienced pet owners (mostly cats and dogs) we understand the importance of knowing that your animals are safe when you have to go out. We feel that keeping them in their home environment reduces their anxiety & allows us to maintain their familiar routines and environment.

We will always meet you & your pets in advance of any work so as to build an understanding of their needs, quirks & behaviour.

It is important for us to see how they react to us in an environment that initially has your reassurance. We will tailor our service to their individual requirements and during our sit will focus entirely on your animal/s.

We are happy to cover a wide geographical area for extended sits, although most of our current customers are in the South & East Wales areas. Our pop-in service covers the Vale of Glamorgan area.

About us

We have both always had pets in our lives. Since 2009 we have proudly adopted 3 greyhounds, fostered a greyhound & lurcher, adopted 10 cats & fostered 5. Many have now crossed the Rainbow Bridge & others are settled in their new families. Our current gang includes a whippet, a scruffy poodle cross & 3 moggies. We also have a lively shubunkin!

We’ve had 2 dogs with food aggression, fostered a reactive dog & had an anxious sighthound. We have dealt with injuries & ongoing medical needs in our various pets so are well accustomed to giving medication, changing bandages & monitoring health changes.

We are most definitely animal lovers & support a number of charities including the Cinnamon Trust; currently walking a senior poodle for a local octogenarian.

Whilst our main focus is cats & dogs, we are happy to look after other small pets. We have experience with guinea pigs, rabbits, hamsters, and tortoises and are always happy to increase our skills repertoire. It is our intention to offer our customers the level of care we want for our own gang.
