About Us

I’m Charlie Lewis a canine and equine behaviourist based in South East Cornwall. I am a complete advocate of positive reinforcement training methods and have a passion for dogs, horses and all animals really.

I wholeheartedly believe working with your animals to improve behaviour through force-free methods will lead to a better relationship with your animal and a more successful outcome.

I have had a passion for all creatures from an early age. I have been lucky to be able to combine my passion for dogs and horses into both my degree studies and my career.

I’ve been riding since I was 7, getting my first Dartmoor Hill pony at 11 and my second, Akia, at 14. Akia, who is now 18, set me on the root of positive training.

She arrived a very green, difficult and temperamental pony, but with patience and reward based incentives she became a joy and clearly at peace with herself – which she still is today.

I was an active member of TM Internal School of Horsemanship as a child, becoming a working pupil as a teenager and ultimately Yard Manager, so you can just imagine the behaviours I’ve seen!

When it comes to dogs, I was trying to train them from an early age but didn’t properly start doing more and particular, agility, until I was 10.

At one point I was running three competition dogs, my own and other owners in junior competition classes.

Walking & Pet Sitting Services

In addition to my training services, I also offer a range of dog walking services under the name of 4 Paws Canine Services – you can find my Facebook page here.

I also offer pet sitting services so if you off on holiday and not sure what to do with your pets or you away for work and need some help exercising your horse, I can help.

Trustworthy, DBS checked and fully insured I can provide extra support with your animals when you need it whether that’s long term or short term to cover a holiday or illness.

I am happy to be a key holder and stay at your home so you can ensure your animals still receive the best care when you aren’t around.

Dog Walking

I offer two types of dog walking: group and lone walking.

Groups have a max of four dogs with the dogs being carefully matched to avoid personality conflicts. group walks will last approx. 1 hour though your dog may be out of the home for loner.

Lone walks will be tailored to your dog’s exact needs following a discussion and agreement with yourself.

Pet Sitting

Leaving your home and your pets in the hands of a stranger can be daunting, which is why I will always take the time to get to know you, your home and your pets before carrying out any sitting services.

I am DBS checked, fully insured and can provide a number of references.

As well as providing your pets with the dedicated care they require, I am also clean, neat and tidy so you can rest assured you can return to your home in the same state you left it.
