Classy Canines holistic dog grooming

Welcome

My aim at Classy Canines has always been to create a calm, quiet atmosphere for your dog to relax and enjoy their grooming experience. By using aromatherapy and dog friendly scents in the salon it will create a calm atmosphere from the start.

I work with one dog at a time and leave enough time for the grooming session to not have to be rushed. My holistic approach means that i never use cages and always dry by hand.

Dogs have beautiful, trusting souls and I always intend to make them feel amazing physically and mentally. I will always put humanity before vanity and will not make a dog stand there for hours being de~matted.

MY STORY

I have had a love for all animals since I was a child. Our first family dog was a rescue Rough Collie who had a beautiful coat but needed a lot of grooming and I think he gave me the idea to become a dog groomer.

When i left school I worked weekends at a boarding kennels which also housed Animal Welfare Trust rescue dogs so I was constantly dealing with lots of breeds of dogs and different temperaments with the rescue dogs. it was a lovely job for a dog lover. The owners of the kennels bred and showed toy and miniature poodles and i was always curious how she made them look so amazing.

In the spring of 1993 I found a private course in Norfolk called The College Of Groomatolgy to learn to be a dog groomer.

After I completed the course I started my own grooming business working from a summer house in my parents garden.

A few years later I attended Writtle college in Essex to take my City and Guilds in dog grooming.

After a bit of a gap in my grooming career to have my children and move to Cornwall, in 2007 I opened my grooming parlor on West Looe.

Now I have a new parlor on Buller Quay on East Looe.
