Our Day Care is a mixture of fun and quiet time to help prevent your dog becoming overwhelmed. We build up socialisation slowly; giving your dog the chance to get to know and trust us before walking them with other dogs. Once they’re happy and settled, we progress to off-lead social interaction in our playpen, but if your dog prefers their own company, we can accommodate this too.
The day consists of two walks in our private wood; during the walks we encourage the dogs to walk calmly beside each other so that you know you can go for a walk without chaos ensuing! They will also have playtime in our safe and secure woodland playpen – your dog can run off-lead which they may not always be able to do safely in public spaces – and we provide lots of enrichment including access to a variety of toys, balls, paddling pools during warmer weather, and small jumps suitable for all ages that your dog can enjoy without causing damage to their joints.
If you’re happy for your dog to be socialized, the dogs are split into smaller groups with similar personalities and are fully supervised for the entire play session. We also post photos of the play session on our Facebook “Chetwynd Firs Club” group so that you can see what they’ve been up to during the day. In between activities your dog will be allocated their own sleeping area so that they can relax and recharge their batteries – this also gets them used to staying with us for when you go on holiday.
