Claire Hurr took over the Petpals (Stockport) franchise in October 2017. Claire has worked for the Stockport franchise for the last 11 years, has been the assistant manager for the last 8 years and also runs the Petpals (Cheadle & Bramhall) franchise.
Claire lives with her partner, Alan, and daughter, Evie, along with 2 dogs, 3 cats and a tank of tropical fish in Edgeley, Stockport. She has been lucky enough to share her life with lots of animals and has a history of owning many loved pets, from cats, dogs and tropical fish to reptiles and even a tarantula.
At Petpals we are fully trained and insured. Our pet care services are flexible and can be tailored to your pet’s individual needs. Whether it’s a puppy or older dog we like to help with the socialisation and training of your pet by finding them a few suitable ‘friends’ to go out with. This way they get more out of their time with us and often end up having a longer visit as they’re so busy having fun!
We have many cat and small pet customers who appreciate being able to leave their pets at home in familiar surroundings! A few of our cats are, unfortunately, diabetic, so we are used to giving regular injections.
To give you peace of mind that you will always receive continuous service, we operate with a small, dedicated team which enables us to cover any staff illness and holidays. Jane, Anne, Manuel and Hannah are all dedicated animal lovers, who between them have owned cats, dogs, hamsters, rabbits, gerbils and guinea pigs, amongst other animals!
Claire Hurr has completed training in the following:
For your dog a walk is so much more than just exercise. Petpals dog walkers use many of the local areas to walk, play and socialise your dog. Your dog will get to know several dog walkers, and if they like other dogs, there will be the opportunity to meet lots of their kind. When they make special friends we’ll do our best to ensure they meet up regularly. Our dog walkers are all very experienced, and will work with you on any training programme you have been given by your trainer.
We are particularly interested in dog rescue, and will do our best to help you make your dog’s life as happy as can be. We assess all dogs very carefully before we take your dog out ourselves. Our dog walkers give daily feedback on what has happened on the walks.
The Petpals dog walking experience offers so many benefits to your dog, and we would like you to put our service to the test. Please use the enquiry form below and we will contact you as soon as we can, or alternatively call us on 0161 611 9046. The Petpals dog walking service has many benefits, including:
Cats and other small pets relax in their own home and dislike the change that holidays can bring when they are transported to boarding establishments.
In worst-case scenarios they can become stressed and withdrawn when away from their usual environment.
Petpals’ Stockport Pet Sitters can reflect your usual animal care routine, while you are away on holiday or business, by visiting your pet at home to take care of their needs.
Despite your absence, familiar sounds and smells reassure cats and small pets and they soon accept a pet sitter coming in to feed them, keep them clean and provide valuable companionship.
We visit once or twice a day to ensure that your pets are healthy and happy and can give medication, as well as plenty of TLC, while you are away.
Petpals’ Cat Sitters are ideal for nervous, or elderly cats seeking the reassurance of familiar surroundings if their owner is away.
Our Small Pet Sitters cater for rabbits, guinea pigs, chinchillas, hamsters, birds and exotics ensuring they are taken care of, fed and cleaned according to your normal routine.
Petpals’ regular visits to your home while you are away also serve as a security measure. We can remove post, open and close curtains or blinds, put out the bins and water plants, all of which suggests the house is still occupied.
Puppies require regular care during the working day, especially if you are out of the home for a long period. We can provide companionship and care visits that can include house or garden play and care as well as a short walk from the house. For puppies this early routine can evolve into a full walk as the dog gets older, stronger and is socialised.
