Welcome to Paws Aboard!
We are a family home and offer Doggie Day Care and Home Boarding services for small and medium sized dogs.
We will treat all your pets as part of our family and we ensure to provide an exciting and loving
experience to each dog in our care. Your dog will enjoy all the luxury comforts of a home and enjoy their holiday with us as much as you enjoy yours. Dogs like company, routine and exercise, we can offer stays as short as day care or come and have a doggie vacation with us!
Situated within 50 meters is Star Mount Lodge where there are plenty of pathways to enjoy our daily walks!
We ensure a safe and fun walking experience for all, along with lots of cuddles and playtime back at home.
About us
Hello and welcome to PawsAboard!
My name is Suzanne and I live at home with my husband Gary and
two daughters, Lucy and Katy, we also have our best friend Molly! an
8 year old English Springer Spaniel.
For the past twenty years I worked in a local day nursery as part of
a great team that provides the best standard of care to meet each
childs individual needs. I have very happy memories of working in a
warm and welcoming environment.
Still staying in the caring profession, my love of walking with Molly and
passion for dogs has inspired me to offer my services of quality home from
home dog boarding and doggie day care for small to medium dogs.
I am at home during the day and offer companionship, love,
care and attention to all my doggies.We live in a semi detached house which has plenty of room for your dogs to run and play. The dogs have open access to a large secure back garden. Inside they have their own room that’s has a mixture of doggie beds set up for sleeping arrangements or for just chilling out quietly if they wish, you have the option of using our dog beds/chair or bringing your own when coming for a sleep over! A mixture of toys are provided to keep them entertained and stimulated during their stay. All dogs love a daily run and exercise is important for mental stimulation, a dog that is sufficiently exercised will be more tired and relaxed.We have access to some fantastic walks on our door steps to surrounding countryside, where there’s no roads-no cars!
All dogs must be neutered/spayed and puppies under eight months of age can not be boarded with other dogs.
We welcome dogs into our family home who are well behaved and show no aggression towards other dogs or children.
I require a meet and greet before accepting a booking, I would be happy for you to come and visit us to see that you and your pet will be happy and contented with our services offered. At this initial meeting we can meet your pet, exchange all details/documents to make sure that everything they need will be provided for. I will pay attention to any nutritional and medical requirements for your pets at your request.
I aim to be as flexible as possible to meet your needs and I am ideal for people who want an alternative to kennels.
Boarding & Daycare
As a standard licence condition from Bury Council, proof must be provided by the owner, of their dogs current vaccinations, against Canine Distemper, Infectious Canine Hepatitis, Leptospirosis and Canine Parvovirus. As dogs from different homes are boarded together, we also ask that your dogs are vaccinated against Bordatella- Kennel Cough in addition to the vaccinations itemised above. All dogs must have ongoing treatment for fleas ,external parasites and worms .Please bring your vaccination card along to your visit as the information above has to be recorded on each dogs booking forms.
Please provide any dog foods your dog requires for the duration of their stay. Dog treats are provided or you may bring your own. Each dog will have their own individual storage area for their belongings/food. Bring your dogs favourite comfort thing to make them feel more at home, something with a familiar smell!?
All dogs are kept on leads until they are familiar with their walks. I do not let any dogs off their leads unless i have owners written consent.
Home Boarding
We all need to have a holiday/break now and then but are unsure what to do with our pets . I realise there is a strong bond between an owner and their dog and that they are a big part of your family. As a pet owner myself I understand your anxiety in leaving them, but I wish to assure you that your dog will be loved and cared for like my own.
Each day your dog will have two walks and be able to explore different territory and a variety of walking routes Back at home we have cuddles, playtime with each other, tug of war , fetch, water fun if we have the sun! then when its time to doze there are plenty of cosy areas to lay their paws, in or outside the house.
Price per night: £25 – 24 hours
additional hours £2.00 /hour per dog
£20 for each additional dog from same household.

The latest drop off or pick up of your dog is 5pm.
Doggie Day Care
Why not enjoy a fun day out and totally relax knowing your dog is being cared for at Paws Aboard
Bring your dog to walk, play and socialise with other dogs. We will have two walks a day and lots of playtime back at home in the garden or inside. When its dozing time there are plenty of belly rubs and cuddles for all doggies!
There is a variety of different walks off road for your dog to enjoy and for those who love water there are safe areas for swimming or a quick dip!
A first aid kit and water is taken out on every walk with your pets and an assessment of risk is completed on a continuous basis whilst out walking.
Price per day: £20.00 – 7am-4.30pm
Dog Walking
My name is Lucy I am an insured experienced and reliable dog walker. I have a genuine love for dogs and getting to know each of their different personalities. I will always treat them as my own and build both yours and the dogs trust.
I make sure your dog/dogs have a good walk and plenty of fun whether that’s playing fetch on a big field, swimming in streams or going on adventures in the wooded areas. I tailor each walk to each individual dog needs even on group walks.
After the walk I bring the dog/dogs back home clean and dry them, make sure they have some fresh water and give them a little treat.
I offer group and solo walks for 1 hour or 30minutes and work from 7am-7pm Mon-Fri and 8am-1pm on Saturdays. I charge £8 for 30minutes and £12 for one hour.
