Our farm is located in 50 acres of beautiful Cheshire countryside, close to Dunham Massey, with excellent links to the motorway network. We take all animals for both short or long term stays and we also offer our professional Pets Stay @ Home pet sitting service.

Meet Our Team…

Our team at Reed House are experienced and well trained to care for your pets in your absence. Each member of staff has been chosen for their love of animals, and possesses a sincere desire to care for our boarders and ensure their comfort and safety whilst staying with us.

Owners – Alan & Alison Edwards

‘Alan and I are responsible for the day to day Management of all aspects of the farm. We take great pride in ensuring that we maintain high standards, whilst still creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere.’

General Assistant – Alex Wilson

Alex has been here 6 years and has 2 horses, 2 dogs and 2 cats. She loves to meet new people and their pets and to help them settle into our routine.

General Assistant – Tom Edwards

Tom Edwards is at university studying geography and works here part time. He is responsible for the dog walking most days.

We also have lots of veterinary students who do placements during the year helping out in the kennels and cattery.

Our Kennels…

We want all of our visiting dogs to feel like Reed House is a home from home. Our staff are warm, friendly and experienced animal lovers and, due to our size, have plenty of time to give each dog the individual attention it needs. Everything you dog will need for his/her stay is provided. This includes clean bowls, baskets and bedding. You can, of course, provide your own if you prefer.

Designed and maintained to the highest welfare standards…

Our kennels are cool in the summer; warm and snug in the winter. We maintain extremely high standards of hygiene and we welcome inspection.  Each kennel also has its own large undercover run allowing dogs to socialise and be stimulated by their surroundings.

Delicious choice of dry and tinned meats…

We love nothing more than being able to feed all of our guests their favourite foods. You can, of course, bring your own food if you prefer. We are happy to cater for any specific requirements, please feel free to discuss this with us.

Stress free and tranquil atmosphere…

All of our kennels have Classic FM playing continually, as this has been scientifically proven to reduce stress and increase tranquility in animals.

Lots of love and cuddles…

Please tell us what your dog prefers and we will work very hard to ensure that Reed House becomes a home from home. We want your dogs to feel like they have had a nice relaxing break too! As dog lovers we understand that elderly, nervous or timid dogs may require special attention. Please let us know – nothing is too much trouble.

Day boarding & grooming service…

Lindsey, our Head of Kennels and Cattery, is a fully qualified dog groomer, so why not treat your dog whilst you are away?

An enjoyable walk to stretch the legs…

At least two walks per day with the option of upgrading your dogs walks to an hour long woodland walk around the beautiful Dunham Massey estate.

Pick Up & Drop off Service…

We offer pick up and drop off service with our fully equipped van which enables us to transport your pets safely. Additional costs may apply – please ask us for details.

First class accommodation…

Our cattery is built to the highest welfare standards. Each chalet is spacious with cats housed in separate units allowing cats to see around them, without having direct contact with any neighbours.

Clean and well maintained…

For us, hygiene is of the utmost importance. Each chalet has sneeze-barriers dividing them which are cleaned and disinfected between each stay.

Individual heaters in all sleeping areas.

Delicious choice of dry and tinned meats……

We stock a wide variety of dry and tinned foods so that your cat can have their favourite whilst enjoying their stay with us. Please let us know if your cat is on any medication or a special diet.

Being comfortable is our top priority…

With your cat’s utmost comfort in mind, top of the range bedding is provided – you can, of course, provide your own if your prefer.

Maintain nails and have fun at the same time…

Each chalet has a scratch pad and toys to keep your cat amused in between our playing and cuddles.

Environmentally friendly…

We use an environmentally friendly wood-pellet cat litter which provides a higher absorbency than traditional clay and mineral litters. It is made from from 100% wood and contains no chemicals or additives.

Pets Stay @ Home…

Our Pets Stay @ Home service offers a friendly and professional pet sitting service in your own home, with daily visits, scheduled 3 times a day, during your time are away. We understand that no matter how good the kennels or cattery may be, some pets just prefer to stay at home. Our unique service will provide the stress-free exercise, diet, play and cuddles that your pet requires.

Customized care plans …

We work very hard to ensure that your pet has an enjoyable time staying at home. All of our staff are trained and insured and will work with your pet’s individual needs. We can create a customized plan to make sure that your pet’s normal routine is adhered to as much as possible. We understand that each pet is an individual and we will work with you to create a personalised plan.

Experienced to work with nervous and timid animals…

As we work closely with rescued and abandoned animals (please have a look at our re-homing page) we have the vital experience to deal with timid or nervy pets.

Do not worry…

We can also administer any medication that your beloved pet may need; this means that our service is very popular with the older pets, or those that are too poorly or old for the excitement of a kennels and cattery.
