Bespoke Grooming

We will discuss your grooming requirements prior to booking an appointment with you in order to ensure that your booking is tailored specifically to your dogs needs.

So if your dog is a bit more matted than usual, or is nervous and needs an extra cuddle or two please just let us know and we will do all we can do accomodate your needs.

Badly Matted Coats

The Animal Welfare Act (Scotland) 2006 provides safeguards against harm or injury caused to dogs. As such, a badly matted dog can be placed in a stressful state or be caused pain if not dealt with properly.  Poochini’s policy is that any dogs that are so badly matted will require to be shaved for their own comfort, to allow the skin to breath and for the dog to be pain free. Although this may seem a bit drastic, it is necessary to allow the coat to re-grow and to return to prime condition and is the least stressful and pain-free option for the dog.

All owners will be asked to sign a permission to shave declaration for any badly matted dogs prior to any grooming taking place.

EXPRESS BATH AND DRY SERVICE

If your dog gets dirty after the park and no time to bath and dry it??? Why not drop it off at the salon for a quick bath, dry and fluff!!!

ON THE DAY APPOINTMENTS

We will be offering same day appointments from 1st November onwards.

DOG DAY CARE

Unexpectedly called into work with no dog sitter? Have a hospital appointment to attend? Or just need your furry friend looked after for a few hours…..
Contact us for half day or full day care options.

Environment

We do not use drying cabinets or cages for the dogs in our care. All dogs in our care are bathed and dried by hand and we aim to provide an environment that allows your dog to feel as relaxed and stress-free as possible. It is for this reason that we work on a one to one basis with each and every dog. If however, your dogs becomes aggressive or unmanageable you may be asked to collect them.

PRICES

Our standard range of dog grooming prices are listed below. Not every dog is the same however, so from time to time, the price we quote before commencing grooming may differ from what is published in our price list.

Nail clipping and ear plucking are included with all bath, blow dry and styling packages. Please note our Badly Matted Coats policy.

Puppies

We offer a puppy pamper package (£15) which consists of bath, brush, nail clipping if required, ear cleaning and introduction to the salon. All puppies receive a spray of cologne and bow.

This price will differ slightly if you also require a trim or the coat.

  • Miniature / Toy Breeds (e.g Maltese, Lhasa Apso, Shitzu, Westie) – £18 to £32
  • Medium Breeds (e.g Border Collie, Springer Spaniel, Cockerpoo) – £20 to £40
  • Large / Giant Breeds (e.g Labrador, Labradoodle, Bouvier Des Flandres, German Shepherd)- £20 to £60

Prices depend on whether a bath and brush or full groom is required.

Grooming Frequency

All dogs are different and therefore will require varying levels of grooming. Generally most breeds would need regular grooming between 7 to 10 weeks. Bathing can be done as and when required.

We also recommend for breeds such as Lhasa Apso, Shitzu, Bichon that a bathing session is booked between regular grooms to keep the coat in pristine condition and to avoid unnecessary matting.

Grooming times can vary in length from anywhere between 1 to 3 hours.  We will always give a rough time guide when dropping off your dog and when the groom is finished we will contact you to collect your dog.
