Welcome to Paws and Relax Pet Services!

We offer services such as Dog Walker, Dog Trainer, Pet Sitter and Dog Groomer based in Ayrshire. Our dog walking is under supervision at all times and our dog obedience training is held on a 1-2-1 basis to ensure full dedication to our clients. We are 1 of 2 people in Ayrshire to hold an IMDT membership. Dog grooming can be tailored to suit your needs and our pet sitting facility offers over and above what you may think. At Paws and Relax Pet Services, our no.1 priority is the safe handling of your dog, cat or other small animal.

Dog Walking

At Paws and Relax Pet Services, dog walking can be the best time of our day! We understand the importance of every dog getting the walk that they deserve and require for their development. The benefits of dog walking include: they will be overall healthier, be more likely to respond to training and will also sleep a little bit better!  Plus we get to have some fun playing with our doggies… even during full moon!

We know from experience, that every dog is different and therefore every dog may require a dog walk customised to their own requirements. With this in mind, Paws and Relax Pet Services will work with you to accommodate and tailor a dog walk plan to suit.

We are able to offer group dog walks for socialisation (max. 4 dogs per walker) and solo dog walks aimed at puppies, the elderly or dogs who simply prefer to walk on their own.

Please note that dogs will only be let off of their leads with prior permission from the owner and after a trial period with ourselves.  All dog walks will be in areas that we ourselves have checked and found suitable and most are local to Ayr.

Upon booking, a free consultation will be required to meet with owner and dog in their own environment.  This will allow for the owner to meet me and also, we will be able to learn more of the dog’s character and their likes / dislikes.

Group Dog Walks
£11.50 – 1hr

Group dog walks at Paws and Relax Pet Services will be conducted with a maximum of 4 dogs per walker.  Our dog walks will consist of 1hr out walking and playing but please allow for 2hrs away from the house.  Each group will be tailored so that they are consisting of similar sized dogs.  Off lead walking will only be permitted with prior permission from owner and also after a trial period.  Our dog walks are held at local parks, down at the beach or in forests.

Solo Dog Walks
£8.65 – 30mins

Paws and Relax Pet Services provide solo dog walks for those who wish to have their dog walked on their own.  Solo dog walks are aimed at owners who have a puppy, an elderly dog or simply prefer that 121 dog walk for their 4 legged friend.  The solo walk will consist of 30mins, tailored to owner’s request.  We do recommend 30mins for pups and the elderly however, the walk duration can be extended with prior notice.  Off lead walking will only be permitted with prior consent from owner and also after a trial period.

Doggie Day Hikes

During the summer months Paws and Relax Pet Services will be holding several Doggie Day Hikes.

The benefits of these to your Best Friend include:

– A complete change of scenery to the everyday walk

– Helps to reduce common behaviour issues caused by boredom

– Help to build confidence by socialisation

– Helps to burn off that built up energy

– Aids to a better sleep for all………including you!!

Adult Dog One-to-One Training…

So, you have survived puppyhood!  Firstly, well done… However, you recognise that your best friend isn’t quite 100% on their training and general etiquette. Do not worry, we cover adult dog training for such events in their life.

It is our aim at Paws and Relax Pet Services to guide you as a responsible owner into making sure that your dog continues to grow into a confident, well behaved dog.  We cover all of the basic adult dog training including:

– Toilet training
– Leaving routine (you leaving them alone in the home)
– Greeting visitors
– Basic obedience (recall, loose lead, etc)

We do understand that not everyone can or even wants to attend group training so we at Paws and Relax Pet Services have tailored the below packages to allow owners to decide what best suits them and their lifestyle.

Our packages include:

– Training support during the package (phone/email)
– Training plan where applicable

Our packages are designed to train obedience behaviours.  If your dog is experiencing issues such as aggression, anxiety or fear based behaviour, then we won’t be able to help but we can happily point you in the direction of a reputable behaviourist where necessary.

Please note, our adult dog training packages can only cover so much in one session.  If you are unsure of how many sessions you may need, still do fill out the form and where necessary, we can advise if you would require more or less for your specific requirements.

Single Consult/Practical

A 1.5 hour session either within the comforts of your own home or surrounding outside areas.

This package focuses mainly on training with 1 unwanted behaviour (perhaps 2 depending on the severity of them).  It can cover topics such as

– Toilet training
– The home alone routine
– Greeting visitors
– Basic obedience (recall, loose lead, etc)

Full email/phone support available up to 2 weeks after the date of consultation.

Price £57.50

Single Consult/Practical plus Follow up Session

A 1.5 hour session either within the comforts of your own home or surrounding outside areas.  This package is followed by one further 1 hour tutoring session in a carefully chosen location.

This package allows for a little more flexibility in your training programme.  We are able to tackle unwanted behaviours in the initial 1.5hr session then we come back at a different date and time to revise or top-up and therefore tutor any teething issues which have developed during your personal time adapting the new training.   It can cover topics such as

– Toilet training
– The home alone routine
– Greeting visitors
– Basic obedience (recall, loose lead, etc)

Please note that this package must be completed within a 4 week period.  Continual email/phone support throughout the whole package and up to 2 weeks after second session.

Pet Sitting…

At Paws and Relax Pet Services, we offer a pet sitting service to cater for those who can’t always be at home but do wish to have their pet checked in on.

This service would be aimed at indoor cats, rabbits, birds, elderly dogs or any pet who simply does not require a walk but do require some human interaction and a meal throughout the day whilst the owner is unavailable.

Please note that all pet sitting services will require a quick (and free!) consultation to ensure all information is captured prior to taking place.

Home Visit / Pet Sitting
£8.65 – 30mins

Paws and Relax Pet Services offer a home visit service for those who wish to have their pet checked in on during the day, playtime and cuddles included.  We can cater for small pets, ensuring they are fed and have plenty of water available to them.  Where requested, we will ensure their toilet area is also clean and tidy.  Home visits can include taking in of mail, watering plants, etc free of charge.
