Set in 12 acres of idyllic Wye valley countryside, on the Herefordshire Powys border, close to both Hay on wye and Kington, Welcoming guests from Hereford, Brecon, Leominster and the surrounding areas.

Redgates is a family run boarding kennels and cattery, with a wealth of experience in all aspects of animal welfare, we are committed to providing our guests with the utmost care, attention, and understanding.

Our modern purpose built facilities, which were designed in 2004, enable us to create a quality, stimulating and caring environment for your best friend.
What really sets us apart at Redgates is the amount of time we spend with our guests, ensuring the individual attention, and love that all our guests deserve.

The Kennels

All our kennels are large or extra-large, bright and airy with full height walls, each bedroom area has individual heating and non- slip insulated flooring, leading to their own spacious covered all weather play area.

We provide comfy beds with soft bedding, gentle back ground music is played throughout and we encourage any favourite items from home, all of which create a comforting atmosphere.
We provide selection of quality dry feeds, including hypoallergenic and tinned pet foods. If you would prefer your dog to have their usual food during their stay, or they require a specialised diet you are welcome to bring it with you.

All our guests enjoy off lead fun and games 3 times daily in our securely fenced 2 acres of grassy play paddocks, there is always something new to explore and enjoy!
Here at Redgates we encourage carefully selected and supervised social play groups where dogs can enjoy organised activities, making friends, have freedom to run and burn off excess energy, which leads to a happy contented stay.

Our paddocks are designed to accommodate all our guests individual requirements, older pets and the not so social can all enjoy the benefits of off lead play at their own pace. Your dog is guaranteed a happy holiday.

The Cattery

Each of our purpose built large insulated chalets, have a cosy sleeping area with thermostatically controlled infrared heating, leading to its own outdoor south facing weatherproof play space with lookout shelf and snooze chair.

Our standard chalets can accommodate one or two cats, whist our family units can house three or four guests. Cats sharing must be from the same household.
Our guests can relax in a peaceful location nestled in the private cattery garden, with beautiful views to the fields and woodland beyond.

Our guests are provided with a quality menu which includes carefully selected dry kibble, pouches and tinned foods. If you prefer your cat to have their usual food during their stay or they require a specialised diet please feel free to bring it along with you.

Relaxing music is played to create a tranquil atmosphere and all our guest receive lots of one to one attention, cuddles and interaction throughout their stay.

Although we provide everything your cat may need, we want our guests at Redgates to feel immediately at home. We encourage owners to bring favourite blankets or toys so your cat feels as calm and comfortable as possible.
