Blossoms is a family-owned kennels and cattery in Woodford, Cheshire. Standing in extensive 8 acres of grounds the boarding facilities have been purpose built in leafy grounds to a high specification with comfort and security in mind and continue to be developed to improve the service that we can offer. The kennels and cattery are licenced by the Local Authority. Blossoms Kennels and Cattery has been operating as a boarding facility for over 40 years and can bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to the care of your pets. At Blossoms Kennels and Cattery we are always looking to improve our services and we will soon be refurbishing our Reception area and intend to include a fully stocked pet shop offering everything from scratching posts and toys through to a full range of pet foods. Opening Times Our reception is normally open during the following hours: 8.30am – 12.30pm & 1.30pm – 4.30pm Monday-Sunday An answerphone is in operation in the office on Sundays. All pets being boarded should arrive before 3.00pm on the first day of boarding in order to allow sufficient time to get your pets settled in. |
Kennels – Stockport, Cheshire
Our boarding kennels in Stockport, Cheshire are individually heated and provide comfortable accommodation for all sizes and breeds of dog. We use plastic moulded beds with thermal Vetbeds and have sealed concrete floors in order to allow us to maintain a very high level of hygiene. Dogs also have access to an attached covered run. The boading kennels have been designed to suit every need, from small dogs to families of large dogs. We can also provide separate units for dogs needing rest or convalescence, bitches in whelp or with new litters – bitches in season are also kenneled in this unit.
As part of our normal care we carry our routine health checks on your pet during their stay with us and groom them before their return home. We can also bathe your dog if requested. We are planning to add a professional grooming service soon and further details will be available in the near future.
Walks
To help keep boarding costs as low as we can walks are offered and charged for as an extra. The charge is £3.00 (+ VAT) per walk per dog, unless two dogs from the same family can be safely managed by one member of staff. Walks are at least half an hour long and are taken in our own fields.
Bowls, Bedding and Toys
Everything that your dog needs during their stay in our boarding kennels is supplied by us at Blossoms, but if you do choose to bring your dog’s own bedding please wash it a couple of days before arrival – so whilst it is clean and fresh it still has the reassuring familiar smells of home. Also if you would like to bring in favourite toys for your dog feel free to do so – toys from home are comforting for your dog during their stay at Blossoms.
Vaccinations
All dogs boarding in our kennels with us must have a current vaccination certificate for Hepatitis, Distemper, Leptospirosis and Parvovirus, plus the Nobivac or
Intract vaccine for Kennel Cough. Boosters should be administered two weeks before your pet is admitted to Blossoms. We need to see a valid vaccination card each time your dog is boarded with us.
Food
We keep in stock a comprehensive range of food, using Hills Science Plan as well as the more popular tinned and pouch foods. If prescription diets are required they should be supplied along with any specific feeding instructions. We do not offer discounted rates if your own food is supplied.
Medication and Illness
We are happy to give prescribed medication to dogs staying with us – please supply clear written instructions and sufficient quantity of medicines for your pet’s entire stay. In the unfortunate event of your dog becoming ill during a stay with us we have our local vet, just half a mile away, on call 7 days a week. We have an examination room and isolation facilities if required. Blossoms insurance will meet all the costs incurred if the illness is a result of their stay with us; if the illnes is the result of a pre-existing condition then all costs of treatment will be your responsibility.

Our boarding cattery in Stockport, Cheshire are set in beautiful surroundings overlooking lawns, orchards fields and are well away from our boarding kennels. The cat pens are warm and comfortable and are heated individually with thermal Vetbeds in moulded plastic beds. Our catteries were designed with great attention to detail and there are pens for single cats, larger pens for families of up to 4 cats sharing and we also have a separate unit for cats specifically in need of convalescence or rest.
