Quiet Acres is a popular family business just outside Eye; close to the A140 and midway between Norwich and Ipswich, set in idyllic woodland surroundings that your dog or cat will love.

Please get in touch if you would like to find out more about our high quality facilities.  Our kennels and cattery pages have more information on where your pet will stay.  Quiet Acres also specialises in making sure each animal is treated individually, whether it is ensuring any appropriate medication is administered, or to cater for specific feeding habits.  We can even spend a little extra one-to-one time with them if you wish.

We understand that trust is everything when leaving your pet in the care of someone, so if you would like to visit us beforehand to get a feel for how we look after our guests, we would love to see you.  We are also happy to answer any questions you may have so do call us on 01379 678374.

THE DOG BOARDING KENNELS AT QUIET ACRES

All the kennels at Quiet Acres near Eye are well maintained and feature cosy indoor sleeping quarters with heating facilities and attached, covered outside runs.

There are large kennels for family dogs who want to share and also a separate kennel block for those quiet, timid or elderly dogs who want a quieter, more relaxing time during their stay. We treat every dog as an individual and are more than happy to cater for their specific needs. You are welcome to bring any bedding or toys to make them feel at home.

In addition, there are a number of large exercise areas for playtimes and idyllic grassed and wooded areas in our own grounds in the Suffolk countryside for walks that your dog will love. We often see excited dogs as they arrive back at Quiet Acres having been here previously. It’s one of our favourite sights and a clear sign that they love coming back.

THE CATTERY AT QUIET ACRES IN BRAISEWORTH, SUFFOLK

All our cat chalets are kept isolated from the dog kennels and offer ample space for playing and climbing.  The chalets are situated around a small wildlife area so your cat will have plenty to watch and keep them occupied throughout their stay.

All cats staying at Quiet Acres are handled and talked to regularly.  Obviously any individual requirements that your cat has, their likes and dislikes, can all be catered for.

We love looking after your feline friends and they are in the perfect environment to relax.  They help us relax too with plenty of grooming and cuddles.

Tracey

TRACEY

In 2004, Tracey decided it was time for a lifestyle change after a career in the care industry.  She convinced her partner Phil that this was a great opportunity to translate their passion for animals into a business and scoured the UK for a suitable site for kennels.  A year later, they found Quiet Acres because they knew it had great potential and it is now a thriving kennels and cattery.

Tracey is in charge of the daily running of Quiet Acres and spends a lot of the day in reception checking animals in and out as well as chatting to a great range of people about their pets, their travels and their lives.

Tracey is also kept busy looking after their three children who get so much joy from the animals and helping out with jobs in the kennels and cattery.

Tracey says: “For me the best things about having a pet, are the cuddles and unconditional love you get. We can all learn a lot from our pets!”

Phil

PHIL

Phil is heavily involved in the day to day running of the kennels and cattery as well as maintenance and the all-important bookkeeping. His forte is feeding the dogs as he loves to dish up some tasty meals and the dogs are always pleased to see him morning and night as they know that food is on its way!

Phil found Quiet Acres with Tracey following a long search and embarked on a change of career after a long time spent as a motor mechanic and later as a coach builder, specialising in luxury horse boxes. This was great experience for his current role in making sure everything at Quiet Acres is kept up and running.

In his spare time, Phil is a keen golfer and member of Diss Golf Club and enjoys competing in tournaments. He also hopes to run the London Marathon.

Phil says: “Pets help take away all the stresses of life and they are great for helping to get out and about in the beautiful countryside.”

Paula

PAULA

Paula helped her daughter and son-in-law set up Quiet Acres in 2005. Her role covers the entire spectrum of work in the kennels and cattery, she has particular expertise in resolving any behavioural issues that may arise.  Paula loves training and has competed in agility for many years, reaching three national finals.  She has trained many dogs and their handlers in agility and classes.

Paula’s first career was as a school teacher and she thought she had retired, but has now become busier than ever at Quiet Acres. She is also the unofficial head gardener and can often be seen out on the tractor cutting grass in the beautiful grounds where the animals are exercised.

Paula says: “Pets are a wonderful tool to introduce you to other people you meet out and about and make new friends. Many of our customers of more advanced years say their pets make them get out and do things that they wouldn’t otherwise do and also seem to know when they need cheering up. We have customers with assistance dogs and their stories make you realise how much they rely on their beloved pets. Life wouldn’t be as fulfilled without them.”
