Treated as if they are home-from-home, our canine guests are given a “real farm adventure break”, which means plenty of good farm walks, lots of fun and games and individual loving care.
Special attention for every dog is paramount. Being a family business, we offer a high standard of care and a relaxed atmosphere in a peaceful, rural environment. Instead of just a few minutes break in an enclosed concrete yard, our guests enjoy generous walks in open countryside and native oak woodland set in over 40 acres surrounding the farmhouse.
Custom-built kennels situated amongst 40 acres of beautiful farmland just outside the Cotswolds. Our guests enjoy at least four exercise sessions every day always on grass and with other dog friends for company and playtime. We have large securely-enclosed paddocks for off-lead exercise and offer generous walks exploring 40 acres of open countryside and native oak woodland.
After walks, our dogs come back into cosy indoor bedrooms where they have their own bedding, toys and treats. Underfloor-heated and warm in the winter, the kennels are tiled and stay cool in the summer months. Calming radio and nightlights give a sense of comfort and security.
We are veterinary approved and fully licensed by Tewkesbury Borough Council. Owners and some staff living on site 24/7 and CCTV ensure maximum security. Our dedicated and passionate staff offer 1:1 individual attention and care for your dog.
We like you to bring your dogs own bedding, lead, up-to-date vaccination card and any medication/food you’d like us to give. For further details on what to bring, including food, please see our FAQs.
We’re now offering exclusive use of our secure exercise areas. We have three different paddocks available:
The cost is £6 for 30 mins for the two enclosed runs and £7 for the Woodland Walk. Please go to our Rates & Bookings page to enquire about availability and request to book a slot. Send us an email if you’d like to book a slot outside of these hours or multiple paddocks. We will try to be as flexible as we can. Timings and availability may vary when lockdown finishes.
We work in conjunction with a leading UK dog food producer to provide our boarding dogs with a high-quality, complete, balanced dry kibble. We cater for working dogs, puppies and senior dogs.

As well as a home for long-staying holidayers, we also offer a flexible daycare service and have many regular daycare dogs who can arrive from 7.30am and stay until 6pm, by arrangement. All our dogs, whether boarding or day care, receive exactly the same care and exercise. They get the chance to run as part of a pack off-lead either in our securely enclosed grassy paddocks or, if they have good recall, around the farm.
New clients: We are now fully booked throughout the Easter and Summer holidays so unfortunately we are unable to accept any boarding and daycare bookings for new clients at the moment. Please do get in touch with us in the Autumn to discuss any needs you may have in the future.
The charge begins on the day you bring your dog in, irrespective of the arrival time, since we need to ensure an empty kennel is available. We do offer a discount on the collection day as long as you collect between 8.30 and 9.00 am. Your dog/s will have been fully exercised and given breakfast by then. A full day’s rate is charged if the dog/s remains in its kennel after 9.00 am and occupies the kennel for the day. Costs for more than three dogs by quotation. The cost for daycare and boarding is charged per day. For boarding holidays we operate peak and off-peak rates with our peak season running April 1st-September 30th.
We have strict opening hours to avoid disturbance to our boarding dogs. These opening times allow us to develop a good routine for all our boarding dogs; the better the routine, the happier the dog! However our regular daycare customers can arrive from 7.30am and be collected until 6.15pm by arrangement. We recommend that new dogs are dropped off in the morning so they have all day to settle in before bedtime.
We are closed for arrivals and collections on Christmas Day, Boxing Day, New Year’s Day and Easter Sunday. On Bank Holidays we are open in the afternoon only.
To enquire about hiring one of our secure paddocks please send us an email with details about your dog, when you’d like and which area you’d like to book to book: Poplar Paddock, the Wheat Field or the Woodland Walk.
We will confirm your booking or let you know alternative available time slots. The cost is £6 for 30 mins for one paddock or £7 for the Woodland Walk. We require payment in advance by online bank transfer. Our account details will be sent to you once the booking is confirmed.
By booking an appointment and using our facilities you automatically agree to our T&C’s. These are subject to change and can be found here: www.waterloocheltenham.co.uk/terms-and-conditions/
