PET TRANSPORTATION

We are available for pre-booked, non-emergency transportation of pets.  The reason for transportation can be varied, and not just for veterinary purposes.  We are able to provide a local pet taxi service (Surrey only) and long-distance transportation. 

We are able to act as a chaperone for your pet at their routine vet/grooming appointment.  A wait-and-return and return service can be provided upon request.

Any species of pet can be accommodated in our secure vehicle.  We regularly transport cats and dogs, but have also carried rabbits, ferrets, chinchillas, reptiles and tortoises.

The pet owner can accompany their pet on any journey.  However, if the pet is being dropped off at their destination, the pet owner will need to make their own arrangements to return as we do not operate as a regular/human taxi service.

We hold a Type 1 Animal Transporter Authorisation from DEFRA. The vehicle is cleaned and disinfected thoroughly after each journey using a high-grade, DEFRA-approved disinfectant. There is an internal camera installed so that the patient can be visually monitored throughout the journey. Our vehicle is maintained to the highest standards and we use up-to-date GPS technology to ensure we reach our destination in the quickest time possible.

Quotes are provided on an individual basis, factoring in service requested, distance, duration, day and time of day.

MEDICATION VISITS & MICROCHIPPING

We are able to visit your pet at home to administer medication (previously prescribed by your vet).  This service is particularly helpful for any pet owners struggling to administer oral medication to their stubborn or wriggly pet. This service is available in Surrey only.  Prices start from £20 per visit.

We have been specially-trained to microchip your pet(s) in the comfort of your own home (Micro-ID Ltd).  This service is convenient for you and stress-free for your pet(s).  It is very important to ensure your pet cat, dog, rabbit and ferret is microchipped because if your pet is lost or stolen, you are far more likely to be reunited if they are microchipped.

A microchip is a small electronic device about the size of a grain of rice. The microchip is inserted under your pets’ skin, between their shoulder blades, via a quick injection. Once inserted, an animal cannot feel the microchip and the special capsule around it means that it does not break down and is designed to last your pet’s lifetime.

Legal Requirements – It is a legal requirement to microchip your dog. Since 6th April 2016 all dogs in England, Scotland and Wales must be microchipped and registered on an authorised database by the time they are 8 weeks old, and before they transfer to a new keeper. The new keeper must then register the dog in their name and keep their details up to date.

New Law Introduced (April 2023) –  cats must be implanted with a microchip before they reach the age of 20 weeks and their contact details stored and kept up to date in a pet microchipping database. All owners must have their cat microchipped by 10 June 2024 and owners found not to have microchipped their cat will have 21 days to have one implanted, or may face a fine of up to £500. Owners will have until 10th June 2024 to microchip their cat.

This service is available in Surrey only.  Prices start from £40.

AFTER LIFE SERVICES

Our vehicle is registered with the DVLA as a Veterinary Ambulance and we are regulated by the Animal and Plant Health Agency (APHA) for the Transportation and Handling of Animal By-Products (cadavers/deceased pets). 

​

Post-Mortem Transport

This service is available for Veterinary Practices who require transportation of a deceased patient (cadaver) to a Veterinary Pathology Unit for post-mortem investigation.  We regularly transport cadavers to The Royal Veterinary College Pathology Unit and The University of Surrey Veterinary Pathology Unit. This service can usually be provided for same day or next day transportation.

Home Collection Service

If your pet passes away at home, and you have no means of transporting them either to the vet or the crematorium, then we can do this for you.  This is simply a transportation service and perfect if you have made the necessary cremation/burial arrangements with the vets or pet crematorium. This service is particularly popular for large dog breeds, which can be difficult to lift and move.  We use a veterinary stretcher to transport our large patients with respect and dignity.

Pet Cremation Package

We know how devastating and distressing it is for the whole family when a beloved pet dies. It is an emotionally-challenging time.  We are able to offer an exclusive service which takes responsibility for ensuring your pet receives a dignified and respectful final journey.  We offer a bespoke, personal and caring service.

We will pick up and transport your pet exclusively from your home or the vets in our private Animal Ambulance and transport them directly to the Pet Crematorium.  We will make all necessary arrangements directly with the Pet Crematorium on your behalf and bring your pets individual cremains back to you in a scatter box or a wooden casket, within 48 hours.

​

We can also arrange a communal cremation for your pet, whereby no cremains are returned to you.
