We have a small kennel of mainly Golden Retrievers and have always aimed to breed dogs capable of working in all spheres. We have both show bred and working bred Goldens which both work and show. Dawn is a Championship Show Judge in the UK and has judged in Europe, competes regularly at conformation shows, Rally Obedience, Field Trials and Working Tests and has competed at obedience.
We believe in the Kennel Club ‘fit for function’ and all our dogs are tested for hereditary Hip, Elbows and Eye conditions through the BVA/KC/AHT schemes and we DNA test our dogs for other health conditions. We are Licensed Breeders and conform to the requirements of the local Authority as Gaytonwood Gundogs and our Licence Number is LN/201900357 and our certificate is displayed for inspection.
We sometimes have puppies available to suitable homes and we have dogs available at stud to bitches who have been tested for hereditary problems. From time to time we also have trained dogs available,
Dawn is also a trained Microchip Implanter and member of the KC Accredited Instructor Scheme and runs training classes for groups and individuals – see our Training page for more details.

Training
Due to health issues I have stopped training at the moment but will hope to start again in the spring.
I run regular training classes for all dogs, starting with puppy obedience, followed by basic obedience and up to the more advanced gundog work. Our training ground has a variety of different types of cover and lends itself well to all sorts of exercises.
We train outside in all weathers, giving dogs an opportunity to learn, replicating what most of us find on our usual dog walks. Our philosophy is that of making training fun for both dogs and owners and learning by using a carefully structured training plan for each individual.
During the winter months we train at the weekends and during the summer we train in the evenings, with one group lesson being held during the daytime to accomadate those who have evening committments.

For those who want to compete in Gundog Working Tests or Field Trials we also arrange training days and offer experience in the shooting field. I have also trained a number of dogs to gain their Show Gundog Working Certificate and Working Gundog Certificate. I am also a member of the Kennel Club Accredited Instructor scheme, a Good Citizen Bronze examiner and am fully insured.
We also have a range of gundog equipment for sale including fleece coats for the dogs.
Puppies
I only advertise puppies on this site where both parents have been tested for hereditary issues within their breeds. Although this does not guarantee that the puppies will be free of hereditary faults it reduces the possibility and is the best that responsible breeders can do at this time.
