Here at Welly Warehouse we are often asked which are the best wellies for walking the dog. Some people walk for miles each day with their (canine) best friend/s, so need a wellington boot that is going to stand up to this kind of regular, heavy use. If your budget can stretch to it we would always recommend looking at one of the premium wellington brands, as the higher quality natural rubber that these brands work with is always going to be more durable and offer a welly with a longer lifespan than some of the cheaper alternatives. If your walk regularly involves long stretches of hard standing, you might consider a welly with a Vibram sole which will not wear away as quickly on concrete and tarmac as some softer rubber compound soles might. Take a look at a few of our favourite dog walking wellies here.
Hi, my name is Ally and I’m known as The Wellie Boot Dog Walker. Come rain, hail or shine, I can be found out and about in my wellies walking my dogs Perdy, Florence and new girl Bean. Perdy is a small Border Collie whose zest for life and energy is remarkable. She is a brilliant and bossy big sister to my ever growing and now one year old puppy, Florence, who is a delicious and very cheeky Pointer. Bean found us in November 2014 and is a fabulous addition to our clan.
As a lifelong dog owner, I know what it’s like to juggle a busy family and professional life and still provide the best care and attention that your family dog needs and deserves. I know only too well that feeling of guilt and worry when work or other committments meant I had to be away from home overnight or for a prolonged period of time which was too long for me to be comfortable leaving my dogs.
I was never entirely happy leaving my dogs in kennels so finding a dog walker who cared for my dogs as much as I do, who my dogs loved spending time with and who could offer them a home from home gave me invaluable peace of mind.
Now, as The Wellie Boot Dog Walker, I am offering that same care, attention, and peace of mind to you and your beloved dog or indeed dogs and I provide the following services:
Walking – group or 1 to 1 including pick up/drop off
Day Boarding
Overnight Boarding
Home visits
When in my care, you can rest assured, your dog will be looked after with the same passion, committment and energy that I give to my own happy hounds.
My home has a large, secure garden, more than suitable for doggy play times and chilling under the apple tree when it’s warm outside. On colder, wetter days, a position in front of the woodburning stove is ideal for well exercised, relaxed and contented dogs.
I am registered with the National Association of Registered Petsitters (NARPS UK) with whom I am fully insured.
I have recently attained a Distinction in my Diploma in Canine Psychology. I also have a certificate in Small Animal Cardio Pulmonary Resucitation (CPR) and First Aid.
Throughout my life, I have never been without a family dog, either having brought up a puppy or rescuing a dog who was in need of a loving home. I’ve looked after everything from a small Dachshund to a 9st Bloodhound, and a very laid back and quiet Foxhound to a very giddy Airedale Terrier. All had their own unqiue charateristics and requirements but they all found a loving home with me.
