Page 1 Pets is an independent, small business established in 2016, which is owned and run by Sharon, a former Police Officer. Sharon has a lifetime of experience looking after pets ranging from large and small dogs, koi carp, tortoises, birds, snakes, cats, tropical and coldwater fish and rabbits.

We have worked hard to attain a large client base, whose needs include doggy day-care, dog home boarding, feeding cats, walking dogs and pop in visits to feed and care for fish, hamsters, rabbits, guinea pigs and chickens.

Page 1 Pets is fully insured, and holds a valid home-boarding Licence issued by the Borough Council of King’s Lynn and West Norfolk for dog home boarding and doggy daycare.

Puppy Needs Letting Out When You’re At Work? Cat Needs Feeding When You’re Away? Dog Needs Walking While You Work From Home?

If it’s a pet care problem you have, page1pets may have the solution.

Dog Home Boarding

Your dog will be our ‘temporary pet’ during their stay, they’re not just clients and will be treated to all the love, care and affection our own dog receives. Your dog will live in our house (no kennels here!) for the duration of their holiday and can sleep wherever they normally do at home. All dogs are fed in line with your routine at home but are fed separately so as to minimise any food stealing or risk of guarding issues, and will receive as many walks as their age and ability allows.

When packing your dog’s suitcase, please remember their vaccination certificate (or titre test paperwork), food and any item you may think will help them settle during their stay (blanket from their bed, something that smells of home, favourite toy etc). Dog bowls, poo bags and crates* are all here available for use.

*Crates are only used at your specific request.

Doggy Daycare

A day in the life of a daycare dog usually involves, a minimum of two walks, rest time, feeding (where required), indoor and garden playtime and lots of doggy social interaction!

We are fully licensed by the Borough Council of King’s Lynn and West Norfolk to provide dog boarding and daycare for a maximum of five dogs at any one time.

Dog Walking

We are so lucky to have an abundance of great places to walk the dogs locally, and try to give your dog a large amount of variation in terms of locations with each walk that they have. Walks can be 30 or 60 minutes, solo if required or with a maximum of two other dogs. They will never be let off-lead without your permission, and only then when their recall is satisfactory. I hold keys for many clients, which has been handy on a couple of occasions when clients have locked themselves out! The keys that I retain are safely locked away in my home when not required, and any clients’ keysafe codes are stored in an encrypted manner.

Pet Pop-ins

Pop-ins cover a multitude of pet requirements, including small pets, dogs, fish, cats and birds. These usually last 30 minutes, and can include feeding, cleaning of litter trays, affection and company, letting pets outside and welfare checks.

We are fully licensed with the Borough Council of King’s Lynn and West Norfolk, which means we have met all stringent requirements under the Animal Welfare Act 2018. The licences are issued based on meeting all criteria including risk assessments, being registered with a vet in case of emergencies, ongoing training and paperwork procedures, and we are given a limit as to the amount of dogs we are able to have on the premises at any one time by the Council.

This limit is in place so, should illness or aggression become an issue, we have ample rooms available to isolate the dogs where needed. There are many unlicensed home-boarders available to you who aren’t inspected, licensed or insured and will never be ‘fully booked’ as they have no restrictions imposed on them as to how many dogs they should safely be able to look after at a time – please remember, they are unlicensed because they are unable to, or don’t want to, meet the basic legal requirements of looking after your dog.

We have built up an amazing client base, mainly through word-of-mouth and social media recommendations, and have a vast amount of repeat custom, and many reviews highly commending us for our care and effort.

We have a genuine love of animals. This is a vocation, not just a job, and the happiness and wellbeing of your pet is our priority. When under our care, your pets are treated as if they were our own.

You are welcome to visit our home to see exactly where your dog will have it’s home-from-home home-boarding stay or doggy-daycare.

The person you speak to on the ‘phone is the one that has completed the checks with the Borough Council, the one that responds to messages, the one that will pop to meet you and the one that will care for your pet. There are no host families involved with your dog, as there are with some franchise-based animal care companies. Your dog will NEVER be handed over to an unknown third party who you’ve met briefly or never even met.

You will never be charged extortionate fees for the care of your pet.
