about us

Marvin’s Motel offers day care and home boarding for a small number of Dachshunds, allowing us to welcome your furbaby into our family and give them all the attention they need and deserve. 

We have a large, enclosed garden allowing for lots of fun and games and inside we have plenty of beds and blankets for snoozing!  

There are plenty of local woodlands where we can take shady walks, and we have a large meadow within walking distance.

a little bit about me & the herd

 My name is Laura, and under the strict supervision of Marvin, I run Marvin’s Motel.  It has been a dream of mine for many years to open a specialist day care & home boarding for Dachshunds, and with the cards dealt to me by the Covid pandemic, it was now or never! 

Marvin was my first Dachshund and my love and passion for the breed has continuously grown over the years.

There are two resident miniature dachshunds at the motel, Marvin (obviously) & Millie. Marvin clearly is the one in charge, and nothing happens without his say so! 

Marvin shows his guests the best place to snooze and where to wait to get the best treats! 

Millie’s role is to welcome the guests and show them where all the toys are kept and how to make the most of the space for zoomies! 

There are three feline residents at Marvin’s Motel. They don’t entertain any nonsense from the little leg posse and as expected treat them all with contempt!

 There are no resident children at Marvin’s Motel, but there are young family members that visit regularly.

  We always have to be mindful that not all dogs like children and not all children like dogs! 

If children are on the premises at the same time as our furry guests all interactions are closely monitored for everyone’s safety. 

If you have any questions regarding your dogs stay and children please do not hesitate to ask    

Registering for day care or home boarding can be a lengthy process, so please bear this in mind when choosing options for your dog.

It will involve providing proof of vaccinations (must be provided before a meet & greet session), medical history, current health, & behavioural information.

Step 2

Depending on your dog and the type of visit, a trial day or overnight stay may be arranged.

Step 3

Free to book day care and home boarding.

we are unable to accept intact males over the age of 1 year to reduce aggression

drop off is between 8am – 10am, and collection is between 4pm- 6pm
