Happily married with two children and three wonderful grandchildren. I have lived in Hemel Hempstead for 19 years. I am well travelled and have also worked abroad. I try not to take life too seriously, and I have always said “There is always a positive out of a negative”.
Having had a love of animals growing up. I worked at a riding school as a trainee riding instructor. I also worked in a pet shop for many years. Thinking I would always work with animals was short lived, as financial reality unfortunately set in!
From my twenties onward, my work life was office based. However, I continued to keep many pets over the years including hamsters, a rat, turtles and fish etc. I also have had cats throughout my life (Bobby, JoJo, Reuben, Hannah, Hannah 2, Lottie and Dali). My first dog Brody (a gorgeous Golden Retriever) was the most amazing pet, he had an incredible life and unfortunately passed just before his 15th birthday. Six months beforehand, we introduced him to RT the Golly Dog (a Collie/Golden Retriever cross). He is now 7 years old, and of course wonderful too.
Since 2018 I have co owned a successful professional dog walking service – Dacorum Dog Walking and Pet Services. Starting in November 2022 I am going solo to concentrate on smaller groups along with daycare and some boarding.
I am also studying Ofqual Level 3 Diploma in Canine Care, Behavior and Welfare.
The last 4 years has been a steep learning curve dealing with all kinds of dogs, large and small and many different breeds, some very well trained and some not so much. I can now say with some confidence that I have a lot of experience dealing with all kinds of breeds and temperaments.
